Since 28 September 2020, an overseas qualified nursing professional is required to provide the evidence of their English language proficiency at the time of making an application for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
An overseas qualified nursing professional may submit a certificate of test results from either the "Academic" version of the International English Language Test System (IELTS) or Occupational English Test (OET) as evidence of English language competency.
The minimum levels in each of the tests that are accepted by NMBI are as follows:

Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) only accept IELTS/OET test results that are less than two years old.
Please note that NMBI accept only one test result and do not combine the results of two tests.
